New GY words
All living languages develop new words. Languages develop new words as new things to talk about or new things become important in people's lives. And sometimes things just change; new words replace previous words for all sorts of reasons. In fact, there are Maori and Irish language centres where people work full time on developing new words for those languages. The document New Words provides a brief outline of the process of how new GY words are developed. There are also three useful Word documents on: • Numbers • Gaay Garay Dhadhin (the GY picture dictionary) • Guwaabal/Yugal (the web site and CD). |
